Not everyone desires to go fully off grid! But many people desire to be more prepared and more self reliant. This means addressing the WHAT IF we lose power! What if the SHTF really does happen! DYI solar setups are actually so doable you can basically purchase every component including the panels on line and have them delivered right to your door! And you don’t need to be a electrician to do the setup. So many times we are intimidated by the unknown. Especially when it comes to renewable energy. DONT be! today Starry goes thru some basic components. Tips on how to get setup and what she purchased for her own first time solar setup! Join her today in part one of the components, then watch for part two all about the panels!!

  1. I totally love your videos!!! I don't know if anyone noticed you said the first thing you wanted to talk about was charge controllers? Although you started with inverters….. ๐Ÿ™‚ I think sometimes you get to excited…. That's why I love your videos!

  2. Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to learn about solar power self install try Ewans Energy Roadmap (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 got cool success with it.

  3. What is dicussed ? It says "Panels will be dicussed in my next video!!". Is it like no cuss words in the next video? Or a disc? Or will something be dissected? Hmmmm.

  4. I would like to set-up a system of solar panels for my home. I've calculated the average daily KWh to ~2.75 and our peak month (January) we use ~1950KWh/month. That seems like an awful lot to rely on solar for, but if I could set up a system to use for our lights, and other non-crucial utilities, I think it could probably pay for itself after a year. Our yearly electric costs are around $2500.00.

  5. YOU CAN GET A SMALLER SCALE SIZE OF THE STIRLING SOLAR GENERATOR HERE > http://bit.ly/2qBEF1E VERY, VERY CHEAP. PLEASE SHARE THIS LINK. I LOT OF PEOPLE NEED THE STIRLING SOLAR GENERATOR TO PRODUCE FREE ENERGY WITH NO BUILDING RESTRICTIONS. FAR MORE CHEAPER THEN SOLAR PANELS. GENERATE MORE POWER OF THE SUN FROM YOUR BACK YARD. YOU COULD BUILD ANYWHERE.

  6. Thank you SOOOH much for this tutorial video. I know things have changed and you have a more modern and efficient (aka complicated) system installation, but I had NO clue how Solar power worked and thanks to you talking in the most basic terms, and explaining what each component is for, now I get it. Huge Thanks with balloons and bells on. ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒŸโญ ๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿ”” ๐Ÿ”” xx

  7. Hi Starry, thanks for the video. As a 100% newbie to this technology, I would like to have seen an overview of how the components work together. Describing each one individually is OK, but a few minutes dedicated as to how they connect and work would have been beneficial.

  8. Thanks, Starry! I am just getting ready to set up a backup system for those rare occasions when the power goes out here. I don't plan to be totally off-grid yet because I want a washer and dryer and I know I'll need a much bigger system to run those items (I'm planning a 110 setup). Thanks for helping us to feel like we can do this too. ๐Ÿ™‚ God bless.

  9. Just to let everyone know that I found a great resource for a battery reconditioning. I decided to give it a try and it does work. Possible to save you a few bucks by not having to replace all types of batteries to include solar. Well worth checking out. http://www.tinyurl.com/zk5hpek (affiliate)
